Murphy's Cafe 126

Absolutely incredibly delicious!!! Everything cooked just right and tons of flavor! Will be back again for sure! My husband got the traditional cheese with steak. I got the chicken honey garlic. Mine was covered in sauce and really messy, but delicious! Could've used less sauce to protect the bottom bun more. Just gotta eat it fast.

Great food and great people. The owner is great and they have friendly employees. Not 100% perfect Phillies but that is expected. It is as close as you can get unless you fly one out from Philly on the same day. Then you'll have a cold sandwich. LOL Altitude, water used, everything alters the taste. But the ingredients are identical. They have huge selection of great food. Definitely recommend.

Just a note to commend the excellent service at Murphy’s. The food was top tier, but the service was beyond that. I had made a request for my sandwich and it accidentally got missed (which was totally not a big deal and I was okay with the meal!) but then they came and brought my correct order anyway. Not that major but the effort was an extra check mark of quality and service. Thanks friends!

We have ate here a few times now, the staff are nice, the manager is really sweet. The food is hot & fresh! My only negative feedback is that I wish they did grilled & fresh sweet yellow onions! They have so much flavor, if there just were grilled & fresh sweet yellow onions paired together, it would be the cherry on top!

They come close, but no cigar. I got a south Philly-style cheesesteak with fries to benchmark how well it holds up to my Philly standards. Overall, it's good, but still falls short. The fries were fantastic! They were very crispy and crunchy on the outside, and soft on the inside. With some salt and pepper, they were nearly perfect. They did do a few things right with the cheesesteak. The ribeye was fresh, thinly sliced, and cooked to perfection! It was also very juicy and tender. The onions filled the room with their aroma while they were cooking, and were cooked perfectly. However, you don't just put a Daisy do do do do-la dollop of whiz right on top! It has to be thoroughly incorporated with the meat, and ideally, a little bit of it should be spread into the bread. Speaking of the bread, it is VERY hard get a cheesesteak with a good hoagie roll outside of the tri-state area. The bread at Murphy's is no exception to this. It could have been a little more crisp on the outside, but it was sufficiently soft and good for the mountain west. Lastly, the steak could have used some seasoned salt, or have more flavor incorporated into it because it was a bit underwhelming in flavor. My fingers didn't smell much like cheesesteak when I left. Murphy's has a strong base for a cheesesteak. It's almost there, but it needs a few tweaks to earn a 5 star rating from me. And with a large cheesesteak and fries costing me over $25 (yes, over $25!) I wouldn't come back to fulfill a cheesesteak craving.

Edit: came back, fantastic as always. If you want a sandwich, this is your place, delicious Philly steak sandwich with amazing fries, perfect dipping sauce, and amazing customer service. I had the traditional, look at the amount of meat. Fair prices, too. What else do you want?? Oh my, we've been here twice and will definitely come back. Keep it up, and thank you for treating us like human beings and talking to us. It's rare to see this customer service nowadays. I'm not a fan of the hard chairs.

Murphy’s Cafe 126 is a great local spot for amazing cheesesteaks and burgers! The fries and onion rings were amazing and nicely battered as well. You can tell the ingredients are fresh and everything is cooked and made to order. The honey garlic burger and mushroom pepper cheesesteak were crowd favorites we tried and we were NOT disappointed. This was our first time visiting, but definitely not our last. The owner was in the building greeting each and every person with friendly conversation. Highly recommend.

My husband and I tried Murphy’s Café 126 today with our daughter. My daughter had been there before and highly recommended this restaurant. My husband ordered a traditional Philly cheesesteak. He said it was super good. I ordered a jalapeño cheese steak. It was good but on the hotter side, which is to be expected the jalapeños were fresh jalapeños, not pickled which for me was a cool surprise, but I would have enjoyed it either way. Their sweet potato fries and tots are absolutely delicious, they were fresh, hot and crispy. Great fry sauce. One huge bonus was they serve Pepsi products and my husband was able to have a Diet Mountain Dew with his lunch, it made his day. The service was friendly and prompt. My only complaint was the renovation of this place could’ve been better in my opinion, more attention to detail on small things. I will not point them out here, I will pass it onto to the owner on my own.
